GUEST ROOMS:

Our guests stay with us in our home, a large, rustic house with a lot of history. The guest rooms are on the 3rd floor (UK 2nd floor), and guests can interact with the family as much or as little as they like. Our guests share our kitchen, living room with TV (Chromecast), music room and dining room with books and games, which are one floor down from the guest rooms. We have two guest rooms with a shared bathroom across the hallway, and one guest room with a private, ensuite bathroom:

  • Green room: A quiet room with a double bed or two singles and an ensuite bathroom, but no view.
  • China room: A smaller room with a double bed. Shared bathroom in the hallway.
  • Traveller room: A room with a double bed that quickly converts into two single beds, plus bunk beds. Shared bathroom in the hallway.

The rooms all have comfortable beds, a wardrobe and/or shelves, and a desk. They are on the third floor (UK second floor), with no elevator.

All reservations include breakfast, bedding and towels. Dinner is extra and is usually shared with the family. You may also use the guest or family kitchen to cook your own meals. Good WiFi throughout the house. Parties and noise are not permitted.

The family currently includes a rabbit and a young, bouncy, super friendly dog.

Regardless which room you are in, you are welcome to:

  • Use the family kitchen, music room and living rooms,
  • read a book,
  • play the piano, or
  • try board or card games.

If you bring children, we have toys and lego. If needed, we have a cot and safety gates for the stairs.

Children in the music room

Our house is old and charming; it creaks and bears the mark of history. We love it very much, but it is not luxurious, and it's constantly undergoing big and small improvements. Staying with us gives you an opportunity to meet an active Anglo-Norwegian family and experience family life in a Norwegian setting. We speak English and Norwegian, and I also speak French and some Arabic. Several children aged 13 and up live here, so there can be a lot of activity. The children try to be considerate, but they can be noisy at times. They have their rooms and bathroom in a separate part of the house for privacy.

The guest rooms are on the third floor, up steep, old fashioned stairs

The prices listed are for one person, and increase for each additional person. All reservations include bedding, towels and breakfast. If you need additional beds for children, please message me.
