Rongahuset
Rongahuset is a cosy café and guesthouse in Evanger, just off the E16 between Bergen and Voss in Western Norway.
We offer comfortable accommodation, a good breakfast, and a friendly family atmosphere in a charming historic house. Rongahuset is ideal for travellers exploring the Voss region, the Bergen Railway, Flåm, the Sognefjord, Hardangerfjord and Nærøyfjord. Please note that the house is old, with steep staircases, and is shared with a lively family.
Evanger is a small village surrounded by mountains and fjords. After a fire destroyed the village in 1923, the village was rebuilt. Our house then served as the village grocery store and was known as "Rongabui".
Once a busy local hub with cafés, shops, a bakery and a post office, Evanger is now a peaceful place to stay and explore the surrounding region - whilst our shop Evanger Landhandleri is one of the best independent grocery stores in the region!
We moved in to Rongahuset ourselves in 2017, and we're slowly fixing it up: it creaks, it's old-fashioned, and it's full of character rather than luxury.

Notes
The base rate for each room is for one person. The rate for each additional person is 550/700 NOK. Stays of several nights, as well as early bookings, receive a small discount.
Bedding, towels, wifi and a good breakfast are always included in your price. Possible extras are dinner, laundry, kayak rental, transportation. Please ask for prices, and if you need anything that is not mentioned here, please ask!
For longer stays of more than two weeks, please get in touch for prices and terms.
Dinner is 200 kr per person, and can be paid by card or cash. You can add dinner to your reservation when you book, but you can also ask on arrival, or message me before your stay. Please let me know as early as possible if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions.
If you wish to eat out, there are a number of nice restaurants in Voss, and a couple of places in Dale. The only options in Evanger are to eat with us, or in my café when it is open.
